It has among its aims the need to maintain the professional integrity of its members and to safeguard the interests of both their clients and the public.

Different members of the Association address different sound control issues. Some are predominantly sound isolation manufacturers - making sound isolation products like plasterboard, masonry or steel panels. Others make sound absorptive materials like fibreglass insulation, rockwool and other materials. Member companies may also use these materials in their designs or the products they sell.
